ClimaTech Engineering, in collaboration with the customer’s design institute, issued the working documentation and completed detailed engineering for the second phase of Uralelectromed OJSC’s new copper electrolysis department.
The scope of work entrusted to us included HVAC and ACS sections. This is the first project of this scale for ClimaTech Engineering. The project involved very complex technical solutions. Thanks to the capabilities of our ventilation units, the heat recovery system will save more than 12,000 kW per hour of heat. The total air consumption of the ventilation systems exceeds 2,200,000 m3/hour.
It should be noted that the construction is part of the copper electrolysis workshop reconstruction programme aimed at expanding the company’s copper refining capacities. With the launch of the second stage, the capacity for the production of base-free cathodes will increase from 150,000 tonnes to 300,000 tonnes per year. The total capacity (taking into account the production of cathodes using the main technology) will be 400,000 tonnes. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2017.
