ClimaTech Engineering developed low-temperature refrigeration units for the ice cave in Zaryadye Park. We are very pleased that our company was entrusted with such a responsible and prestigious project. Before shipment, the units were thoroughly tested at our test center at the production facility in Furmanov. The customer’s technical specialists personally came to Furmanov for acceptance.
The ice cave structure consists of curved metal pipes with a total length of 15 kilometres. Approximately eight tonnes of special coolant circulates inside. The temperature in the cave will range from minus five to minus eight degrees Celsius.
The refrigeration machines that supply the coolant are located beneath the “glacier”. New layers of frost are artificially frozen onto the walls, ceiling and floor of the cave, transforming it into ice. The ice cover will be fully formed in about a month and a half, during which approximately 70 tonnes of ice will be frozen.
