Major renovations have been completed in the cardiology wing No. 4 of the I.V. Davydovsky City Clinical Hospital. The Mayor of Moscow visited the medical facility. The visit coincided with World Heart Day, celebrated on September 29.
Comprehensive major renovations have been underway since 2017 at the Davydovsky City Clinical Hospital, most of whose buildings are architectural monuments. More than half of the work has been completed, including the complete renovation of cardiology building No. 4, where a new operating theatre has been opened and additional angiography, CT and MRI equipment has been purchased.
“The Davydovsky Hospital is one of the best cardiology clinics in Moscow,” said Sergei Sobyanin. “In general, the treatment of patients with cardiovascular diseases is one of the main areas of our work, because such diseases are among the most significant risks. The population is aging. If we look at the population structure, although there are many young people, there are also a significant number of elderly people. Especially now, during the pandemic, there are additional risks. The coronavirus itself has a very serious effect on blood clotting, causing blood thickening. And there are more problems with those prone to cardiovascular disease, strokes and heart attacks. It is important that the city’s cardiovascular services continue to operate during this period.
